Joel Corry - Outdoor concerts to stay?

Well hello, as you can probably expect not much has happened since my last post way back in April which seems like a lifetime ago now, amidst the whole world on Covid-19 lockdowns. It was so strange not being able to see our families, walking through deserted city centres, going for walks and missing the sound of the planes engine in the sky.

When the lockdown ended some essences of normality came back being able to see my girls and having an actual drink in an actual pub albeit, following the new normal procedures of Track & Trace booking time slots in pubs and restaurants. One thing many of us missed out on was cancelled concerts and festivals, until along came Virgin Money Unity Arena
The first socially distanced concert.

Me and the girls went to see Joel Corry last week and it was amazing.
Totally amazing.

On the way in, your bag gets searched they body frisk you with a metal detector.
There are marked boxed on the floor where your group is supposed to stand in the queue, keeping your distance from the others. Through out this your masks must be on or you are not allowed in.

Each group has their own pen segregated from the everyone else, if your pen is at the front its on the actual ground, as you begin to go back there is metal platforms as for you to be able to see over the rest.
Like I said at the beginning, this is better than a normal stadium concert.
When you're at a stadium you are sitting one by one beside each other, always being bothered by the people wanting to leave with their weak bladders, people standing up in front restricting your view if you don't want to stand.
Here there is non of that.

There are bars and portaloos at every side of you and the queues are always low I think at the most I had 4 people waiting in front of me and once you had been in there was an attendant straight in sanitising down the loo and handles ready for the next person.
As well as the bars, there was also food vendors we were tempted by the Greek gyros's but we never got one. The main bar we went to payment was by card only, I don't know if you could pay by cash at the others.

We asked an attendant to take a photo of the four of us in our pen, he said they couldn't, so a couple from a different pen asked if they took of one of us we'd take one of them.

We were so lucky, as if you've been watching the news the North East is going back into lockdown so the next gigs have been cancelled.
I hope they set more of these up across the UK, they're great.

What have you been doing?
I'm finally going on holiday in the next few weeks, so I'll have more content to upload.

Stay safe!
x
